The Institute of Transportation Engineers San Diego Section is soliciting nominations for 2015/2016 Awards!

The awards will be considered for the following categories this year: 1) Transportation Professional of the Year; 2) Young Transportation Professional of the Year; 3) Project of the Year; 4) Technical Document of the Year; and 5) Public Agency of the Year.

The awards committee is seeking nominations for individuals, projects, technical documents and agencies. Nominations should consider accomplishments that occurred from July 1st, 2015 through September 2nd, 2016. The ITE section is looking for individuals and/or projects have made a notable contribution to the enhancement of the local and/or regional transportation industry.
The following is a summary of the purpose and requirement for each of the awards:

1. Transportation Professional of the Year Award
Who is eligible?: Any current ITE San Diego Chapter member.
Purpose of the Award: To recognize outstanding contributions to the San Diego Section of ITE. The award is intended to acknowledge the personal commitment to the overall success of the section, personal sacrifices for the betterment of the organization and recognized leadership in their field of expertise.
Restrictions: None

2. Young Transportation Professional of the Year Award
Who is eligible?: Any current ITE San Diego Chapter member who is 35 years old or younger as of September 2nd, 2016.
Purpose of the Award: To recognize outstanding contributions of our young members to the San Diego Section of ITE. The award is intended to acknowledge the personal commitment to the overall success of the section, personal sacrifices for the betterment of the organization and recognized leadership in their field of expertise.
Restrictions: Must be 35 years old or younger as of September 2nd, 2016.

3. Project of the Year
Eligibility: Any project completed by the period between July 1st,2015 and September 2nd, 2016 that demonstrates comprehensive mobility transportation planning or engineering, implementation of state of the art design principles, or innovative projects within San Diego County.
Purpose of the Award: To recognize those projects that significantly enhanced the field of transportation planning and engineering within the County.
Restrictions: Projects should be constructed by the period between July 1st, 2015 and September 2nd, 2016.

4. Technical Document of the Year
Eligibility: Any transportation related document prepared by an ITE San Diego Chapter member approved between July 1st, 2015 and September 2nd, 2016.
Purpose of the Award: To recognize the outstanding research and technical writing efforts of the members of our transportation community.
Restrictions: Document should have been published or adopted/approved between July 1st, 2015 and September 2nd, 2016.

5. Public Agency of the Year
Eligibility: A public agency within San Diego County.
Purpose of the Award: To recognize a public agency that has made a significant contribution toward the development of sound transportation based public policy, dedication to research to enhance the transportation profession and the implementation of innovative transportation solutions within the County of San Diego.
