2010 Awards

2010 Section Awards

The following list contains the award recipients in 2011 for the San Diego Section:

  1. Public Agency of the Year: City of San Marcos
  2. Small Project of the Year: South Grade Road (Palomar Mountain) Centerline Strip Project, County of San Diego
  3. Large Project of the Year: I-5 HOV/Lomas Santa Fe Drive Interchange, Caltrans, City of Solana Beach, Dokken Engineering
  4. Student Scholarship: Deanna Chico, Daniel Hershey, Ron Valdez

In addition to the previous awards, the San Diego Section presented a presidential proclamation to Bob Johnson.  Some of his accomplishments include the following:

Bob Johnson

  • President of the Border Section (currently know as the San Diego Section) of ITE from 1992 to 1993
  • Created the 1st annual awards program for the Section
  • Reviewed technical papers submitted for the District 6 conference in San Diego in 2000
  • Recently retired from the City of Carlsbad as the City Traffic Engineer

2010 Annual Meeting Awards

For the second year in a row, the San Diego Section has been selected the winner of the Western District award for BEST SECTION ACTIVITY for a small section. Thanks to everyone for their contributions!
