Welcome to the ITE San Diego Section’s Website

From our President, Ryan Zellers:

Ushering in our Spring season is our March installment of our San Diego ITE newsletter. Ashley Adamos and Hilary Potter put forth a lot of effort getting all the components together and creating ad specifications that work with the layout. (Nice work!) Have a look back at what we’ve done in the first few months, including lunch meetings and  Erik Ruehr’s ITE comment letter to OPR regarding the revised SB743 guidelines. A few job opportunities are splashed into the mix as well.  http://www.sandiegoite.org/wp- content/uploads/2016/03/2016- 03-30-Draft-ITE-Newsletter_ March.pdf

As I’ve eluded to for a few months now, we’re finally a go on our Volunteer/Social Mixer! It will be at the Blind Lady Ale House on April 20th, starting at 5:00. We’ll have *FREE PIZZA AND APPETIZERS*  to go along with the wide selection of craft beers they offer there. So, if you’re interested in volunteering for a position with very little commitment, or a position with a lot more visibility, we have opportunities! Everyone who comes will be offered a role as a chair or a committee, depending on what suits your desire! At 5:30, the presentation is over, and we’ll just hang out and have a drink with *all members of ITE (and spouses) invited*. Stop by Normal Heights (3416 Adams Avenue). If you’re still out by 7:00 and want to explore the neighborhood’s craft beer hangouts, join the *Drinkabout*. It’s a free bus tour that starts at the Blind Lady Ale House and stops at 6 other locations around North Park and surrounding areas. If you know anyone who’d like to add some interest on their resume or is interested in joining a professional organization but doesn’t know where to start, tell them to come! Some committees we’re always looking for help on (but not limited to):

  • Website Chair
  • Meeting Photographer
  • Social Committee
  • 2017 Western District Conference Committee
  • Vendor Show Committee
  • Newsletter Committee
  • SDSU Senior Design Awards Committee

Lastly, our sponsors have come through in a BIG WAY this year! This is probably one of the most successful fund raising efforts to date – and we don’t intend on letting you down. Our packages offered sponsorships for our events all year. Our 2016 Platinum package sponsors include:

  • McCain, Econolite, Michael Baker International, STC Traffic, and Veracity Traffic Group

At the Gold level package sponsors, we have:

  • South Coast Lighting, Kimley Horn, Iteris, LLG, and Dokken Engineering

Also sponsoring ITE for all events this year are our Silver package sponsors:

  • Fehr & Peers and LIN Consulting

There are always sponsorship opportunities all year, but these companies have committed to helping us all season. For that, we thank you so very much! We have more events planned this year to make sure everyone gets a chance to participate. In addition to April 20th’s Social Mixer, we’re already planning our summer social for the end of July. We’ll have a jumpy and games for the kids, as well as food for all of our guests! It’ll be on Mission Bay again, so be prepared to get plenty of sun. If you’re up for the challenge, there’s usually a volleyball match against Mark Jugar’s family that is nearly unwinnable, but we try anyway. What are they feeding those kids?

Have a great Spring in 2016 – Ryan out.
